An intimate somatic lab to explore the bony architecture, pressure mechanics, and the three anatomical gateways of the birth path.
Your body doesn’t need to be taught how to give birth; it needs the biomechanical space to remember.
Mapping the Pelvis for Birth Preparation is an experiential, 2-hour movement lab designed to transition you from abstract medical diagrams to a deep, internal "felt sense" of your own anatomy. Rather than viewing the pelvis as a fixed bone box, you will learn to inhabit it as a dynamic, mobile landscape capable of shifting to accommodate your baby’s journey.
This workshop focuses entirely on the mechanics of Optimal Fetal Positioning (OFP) and labor biomechanics. By mapping your pelvic structure, you will discover the intuitive movements, shapes, and vocal resonances that mechanically widen the specific gateways your baby must navigate during birth.
This lab is strictly limited to 6 participants to preserve a quiet, highly regulated nervous system container. Open to pregnant individuals, those consciously navigating pre-conception, and birth workers (doulas/midwives) looking to deepen their personal somatic understanding of the pelvis.
What We’ll Map Together:
The Bony Architecture: Physically locating and embodying the bony architecture of your pelvis to release structural bracing and find your neutral.
The Three Gateways: Learning how specific leg rotations mechanically open the Inlet (top), Mid-Pelvis (middle), and Outlet (bottom) of the birth path during labor.
Neutral Space = Optimal Fetal Positioning: Discover what neutral feels like in your pelvis and your spine to help create space for baby to find their optimal fetal positioning. Babies can be born in all sorts of positions but there are certainly ones that are easier!
The Vocal-Pelvic Mirror: Exploring how dropping the jaw and utilizing low-frequency vocalizations automatically drops and relaxes the pelvic floor muscles.
